Using the OrionVM Cloud Platform, you are able to clone or resize disks from the "Storage" tab of the panel. This will take between 5-10 minutes depending on the size of your instance disk, and will require your instance to be powered down.

Please follow these steps:

  1. If the disk you would like to Clone/Resize is currently attached to an instance, you will need to detach it first. If your disk is already detached, proceed past the following sub-steps.
    1. Navigate to the "Instances" tab of the OrionVM Panel.
    2. If your instance is currently running, please shutdown your instance.
    3. Click the Modify (modify.png) to open the Modify Dialog.
    4. You will be presented with the Modify Dialog:

    5. Drag the disk you wish to Clone/Resize from the "Attached" column to the “Available” column.
    6. Click "Modify" to close the Modify Dialog. You should notice that the new disk is no longer locked in the "Storage" Tab.
  2. Navigate to the "Storage" Tab.
  3. Locate the disk you would like to Clone/Resize and click the Clone/Resize (modify.png) button to open the "Clone Disk" wizard (as seen below):

  4. Insert a name for the new disk, select a size and click 'Clone' .
  5. Your disk should start cloning. Depending on the size of the original disk, this can take from 5-20 minutes to complete.
  6. Once the clone is complete, you can attach the disk to an instance, as outlined in the "How do I attach more disks to an Instance?" tutorial.
